Hey there, my name is Nina Iordanova. I'm a Toronto-based actor.

Thank you for stopping by! I'm happy our paths have crossed. I'd love to tell you a little about who I am, how I got here, and what I'm working on.

I was born in Kazanlak, Bulgaria, but moved with my family to Toronto when I was 5 years old. I took a lot of arts classes in high school, but hedged my bets with a couple of advanced math classes just in case I wanted to pursue a business degree.

My family is very entrepreneurial, and I'd been trying to start various businesses since I was 12. With high school wrapping up, I applied to the best theatre program and the best business program I knew. Fate would decide for me.

I was wait-listed for theatre school and got early acceptance into business school. I waited until the last day, then accepted Schulich's offer to start my BBA. In my first year of undergrad, I started an improv club at my business school. In my second year, I began to take classes at Second City. In my final year, I started doing short films and decided I'd work as an actor after I graduated.

Take that, fate!
— me

I've since built my acting career on doing things that are difficult. My part in Noah was largely improvised, the "camera" was a laptop, and the scene had to be done in one take. I Am You was the first original Canadian indie VR film. Filming involved wearing a bike helmet with Go Pros hanging from it, and learning how to move to avoid giving viewers motion sickness. I learned sign language for Walk the Moon, and Yiddish for Shehita

I really like working on things that are challenging, and that require me to develop a different skillset.

Aside from acting, I also work in the tech/startup space. A big part of my daily life consists of building FilmYeti.

FilmYeti is an agent for film crew. We make it easy to find and hire crew anywhere in Canada and the US! We've been around since 2016, and are working on becoming the go-to site for hiring in film. Check that baby out!

When I'm not working (what is "free time"?), I enjoy reading, playing Fortnite, and trying new coffee shops. You can take a look at some of my other writing or anything else that catches your eye!

Thanks for getting to know me a little better.
